With the last Wednesday of the month came UCLWE’s first trip to the Science Museum Lates of the Academic Year.

The theme this month was Contagion and so we learnt a little more about the five deadliest diseases facing the world today, Malaria, Ebola, Polio, Zika and HIV.
Activities included

  • Testing how tasty your blood is in the┬áMalaria Zone.
  • Practicing the life saving techniques used in the field by the experts who deal with Ebola.
  • Making a ‘Polio virus’ to take home with you.
  • Learning about┬árepellents for the ever-dangerous mosquito.
  • Using VR headsets to find out about HIV treatment and testing.

To finish the night we hit up the best silent disco in town, and busted out our best moves until closing at 10pm – just in time for a respectable engineer’s bedtime.

See you next month! It’s totally free and lots of fun.
