Celebrating EU CodeWeek 2018: Invitation for Primary Schools to our UK launch event on the 5thof October 2018!
UK launch event for the CodeWeek EU in London on the 5thof October, 9:30am to 3:00pm at University College London’s BASE Kings Cross (BASE KX), 103c Camley Street, London N1C 4PF. The Faculty of Engineering at UCL in partnership with the Institute of Education and many partners from industry and organisations will be hosting a series of workshops to enthuse primary school children from UK state schools about coding and technology, promoting an inclusive, fun and creative environment and day. Have fun creating, making, while learning to code in different languages and explore a wide range of devices and technologies. Workshop activities will include Virtual Reality, Internet of Things, LEGO Mindstorms, Robotics, Coding with Scratch and much more offered by Primo Toys, Discovery Education, LEGO Education, Google, Roamer Too, Mama.Codes, UCL Computer Science, Institute of Imagination, Micro:bit Foundation, OhBot and Detective Dot.
Number of participants per school: 10 children maximum accompanied by 2 teachers for each invited school. All children must be accompanied by a teacher or guardian for the entire duration of the session.
This is a free event only open to mainstream state primary schools across the UK. We ask that you register as soon as possible and get a ticket in advance to secure your pupils participation at the event.
Snacks, refreshments and lunch will be provided, please advise of any allergies or special dietary requirements. Please also advise of any special access requirements.
