Paola Lettieri is a Professor of Chemical Engineering and Vice-Dean (Strategic Projects) in the UCL Faculty of Engineering Sciences. She joined the department at UCL in January 2001 as a Research Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering (the first female engineer to be awarded a RAEng Fellowship). Prior to this, she spent five years at BP Chemicals, Sunbury, working in research and development within the Fluidization Group (1995-1998) and the Technology Engineering Division (1998-2000). She graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Roma “La Sapienza” in 1994 and was awarded a PhD in Chemical Engineering from UCL in 1999.
Prof. Lettieri is a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) and Chartered Engineer. She is committee member of the IChemE Particle Technology and Sustainability Specialist Interest Groups, she is co-Leader for the Energy theme of the European Federation of Chemical Engineering Section on Sustainability and member of the International Expert Group on LCA for Waste Management.
Prof. Lettieri is member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Chemical Reactor Engineering (IJCRE) and of the Journal of Computational Multiphase Flows; and she is member of the EPSRC College.
