Adam Gibson’s research focusses mainly on developing new medical imaging techniques to maximise their impact when translating from the laboratory into the hospital. This has led to the first 3D impedance images of adult brain function and the first 3D optical tomographic images of the neonatal head.  Adam currently develops methods for multimodality data and image analysis. His main research themes are in optical imaging, multimodality medical imaging, radiotherapy and imaging historical manuscripts.
