Dr John Mitchell and Professor Paul Brennan collect the University Department of the Year European Electronics Industry Award for UCL Electronic & Electrical Engineering from Rory Bremner

UCL Electronic and Electrical Engineering has been named ‘University Department of the Year’ in the Electronics Weekly Elektra Awards 2012. Professor Paul Brennan and Dr John Mitchell collected the trophy for the department at a black tie event in Westminster, hosted by comedian Rory Bremner.

The award, sponsored by RS, recognises the most innovative and successful electronic and electrical engineering UK university department, with judging criteria that include interesting project work for students, industry partnerships and international collaborations as well as research successes. The competition is organised annually by Electronics Weekly magazine, and has been running since 2002 recognising the achievements of individuals and firms across the European Electronics industry.

Congratulations to UCL Electronic & Electrical Engineering, on this and the many other success achieved this year.
